Aboriginal Heritage Act review lacks detail: HAA

In commenting on the discussion paper, Ms Pemberton said “Unfortunately, the seven proposals contained in the discussion paper lack detail and clarity and provide no clear explanation as to actual benefits and efficiencies expected to be delivered to proponents and Native Title Groups (NTGs).”?

According to Ms Pemberton, the review was made more important by the increase in resource projects within WA, and the corresponding increase in approvals under Section 18 of the Act in order to proceed with certain ground-disturbing activities.
