APLNG first CSG reaches Curtis Island

Australia Pacific LNG's first gas from its CSG fields in the Surat Basin has reached Curtis Island.

The arrival of the gas at the LNG facility also marks the energy company's completion of commissioning of its 530 kilometre high pressure gas pipeline.

As a result of the passing of these milestones APLNG can now initiate commissioning of the power generation facilities on the island.

This commissioning phase of the LNG facility includes the verification and testing of each system of the first processing train and the two LNG tanks, of which part has already begun.

"Australia Pacific LNG looks forward to completing the final phase of construction and delivering first LNG in mid-2015," APLNG CEO Page Maxson said.

The first shipment of gas from fellow Curtis Island LNG company QCLNG left early last month.
