Austech launches monitoring solutions for gases

The Austech Methane Analyser has been custom designed to monitor the concentration of methane being fed to engine modules installed in power stations supplied by Landfill Waste Gas, Coal Seam Methane or Biogas. According to Austech, the Analyser is highly accurate, stable and is not cross-sensitive to other Hydrocarbons which is essential in this application where its output is integral to the measurement of greenhouse gas abatement. The Analyser can also be used for safety shutdown functions.

The Methane Analyser is Australian Certified Exd, ensuring it can be positioned in the hazardous area close to the fuel rail to shorten the sample line. This minimises the response time of the measurement. The Analyser has a local display, 4-20mA output and is available with optional relay outputs. When integrated with Austech’s sample conditioning system, the Methane Analyser can be tailored to each site’s specific conditions and environment. Austech can provide a complete package including system design, panel construction, installation, commissioning and ongoing calibration services.

The Austech SF6 Leak Detector uses a unique extractive gas sampling system designed for the continuous detection and monitoring of Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6) gas leaks. A new and exclusive system on the market the SF6 Leak Detector houses an in-built gas sensor which is designed to enhance the detection sensitivity of SF6.

SF6 is a colourless, odourless, non-toxic and non-flammable gas used in the electrical industry as a gaseous dielectric for high voltage circuit breakers, switchgear and other electrical equipment. Although SF6 is a non-toxic gas, inhaling higher concentrations can displace oxygen in the body and results in asphyxiation. The SF6 Leak Detector reduces this risk with the ability to detect SF6 between 50 and 200 ppm.

The single point wall mounted monitor features an in-built electrochemical gas sensor which converts unique gases to a more electrochemically active gas for efficient detection and measurement. The detector also features a renewable sensor cell and 24 V DC operation.

Other detectors are available from Austech for ammonia, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, nitric oxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, refrigerant, oxygen deficiency, and others, all which are housed in weatherproof stainless steel enclosures.

Austech’s experienced engineers can provide a customised solution to suit any application where environmental monitoring is required. Their continued commitment to meeting customer needs and application demand positions them as an industry leader.

Austech Instruments is a Member of the Ampcontrol Group of Companies and is based in Sydney, and now with sales and service centres in Melbourne and Perth.
