Bonaparte FLNG gets environmental green light

The Bonaparte floating facility – the second floating LNG (FLNG) facility in Australia to be approved – will be located approximately 250 km west of Darwin and will produce and export LNG.

Santos and GDF SUEZ Bonaparte entered into a joint venture in 2009 to develop the project in the Bonaparte Basin, taking gas from the Petrel, Tern and Frigate fields. Santos has a 40 per cent stake in the project while operator GDF SUEZ Bonaparte has a 60 per cent share.
