Diversified Construction – embracing new technology

Each contract with a client is approached on a relationship basis with the objective of meeting on time and on budget results. Diversified’s keenness to keep abreast of new technology and pass innovative gains on to the client has helped with its growth momentum and has meant that clients become part of a long term relationship.

The latest development for Diversified is the importation of a Fast Fusion HDPE welding machine which dramatically speeds up the welding process for HDPE pipes used to construct water and gas pipelines. The American machine has a patented cooling system which speeds up the curing of the butt welded joints and being track mounted means that there is less handling of the pipes and this allows a quicker progression from one pipe weld to the next.

The machine is currently being used in the coal seam gas field of the Surat Basin of Queensland where it is working on a 17 km x 315 mm water line.

Site Supervisor Gerard Heffernan said “The machine is a pleasure to work with, it is simple and altogether means less handling and less strain on the operators and it definitely cuts down the size of the environmental footprint when installing a pipeline through the country.”?

It is planned to bring in a second similar machine after trials with the first machine have proved so successful.
