EnerMech acquires electrical supplier EPS Group

Engineering company EnerMech has acquired oil and gas electrical services supplier EPS Group in Australia and the Americas.

EPS Group specialises in electrical and instrumentation (E&I), hazardous area inspection, high voltage testing and mechanical services for oil and gas and for metals, utility and infrastructure projects as well.

It has worked on six of the world’s largest LNG facilities, with its US subsidiary supporting projects including Sabine Pass and Freeport LNG.

A large portion of EPS Group’s business is in mechanical services, including speciality welding – which supplements EnerMech’s expertise in cranes and lifting, industrial services, and process, pipelines and umbilicals (PPU).

The acquisition highlights EnerMech’s first step into the E&I sector, allowing it to deliver a more focussed integrated services offering suited to the offshore, downstream and infrastructure industries.

EnerMech CEO Doug Duguis said adding a global E&I capability helped meet customer demands for integrated commissioning and maintenance services.

EPS Group managing director Paul Buckley said, “Our combined offering of skills, infrastructure and experience will strengthen our relationships with existing clients and create a wealth of new opportunities.”

“Being part of the larger EnerMech Group, our business is now better positioned to take on larger projects not only in Australia and the Americas but across the globe.”

The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
