Fulbright scholar Cameron O’Reilly to address competitive markets at FutureGAS 2010

Cameron is also the director of the Australian Gas Industry Trust and a member of the advisory committee of the Global Energy Think Tank.

A former policy adviser to the Federal Government, Cameron undertook a Fulbright professional scholarship sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, through which he spent three months based at the University of Texas researching the impact of climate change policy on the US stationary energy sector.

Cameron holds a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and a Master of Management and Public Policy from Monash University, where he undertook a major research essay on the genesis of the National Electricity Market.

Cameron will take his knowledge of Australia’s gas and electricity markets to elaborate the preconditions required for a more competitive retail gas market in Australia and consider the effectiveness of the proposed Short Term Trading Market in promoting competition.
