Dr Reardon said that history has shown that gas drives growth and prosperity, delivering lasting economic benefits and improving quality of life.
“This is more important than ever given that growth in Australian living standards is forecast to be more subdued over the next decade and growth in real wages has been in decline since 2012,” Dr Reardon said.
“Fortunately, Australia is sitting on a huge opportunity for economic development. Our abundant gas reserves are a massive opportunity to provide significant energy security for our nation and contribute meaningfully to social and economic development where it is needed most.”
