The Australian Domestic Gas Outlook (ADGO) conference and the APPEA conference have been postponed due to the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
ADGO organiser Quest Events released a statement saying that due to the World Health Organisation escalating the global COVID-19 outbreak to pandemic status, the event would no longer go ahead as planned this week.
“We are seeing this significantly impact a large number of our attendees and speakers,” Quest Events stated.
“We are not willing to compromise the quality of the content and networking experience that ADGO has become known for, and with the number of attendees and speakers no longer able to attend, we are confident that the measures being taken to preserve both safety and standards are appropriate.”
Quest Events plans to announce new 2020 dates for ADGO in the coming weeks, taking into consideration any further directives regarding COVID-19.
APPEA also advised on Friday that due to the virus outbreak, its annual conference and exhibition scheduled for May would be postponed.
“Due to events involving the spread of the virus both domestically and overseas, we find ourselves in a situation whereby we are simply unable to proceed with the conference as scheduled,” APPEA reported.
