Metgasco considers options for excess gas

Metgasco’s options include supplying gas to local customers, domestic power stations, mini-LNG projects as well as export-scale LNG projects.

Until recently, Metgasco has focused its attention on supplying to gas-fired power plants in New South Wales, however the possibility of converting the excess gas to LNG for export has attracted considerable attention in recent weeks.

In July, Metgasco announced that its Kingfisher Gas Field holds approximately 77 billion cubic feet of 2C resources and 284 billion cubic feet of 3C resources, which is the largest conventional gas discovery in the history of New South Wales oil and gas exploration.
