Mosaic enlists BJ Services to enhance CSG gas rate

This work is the first stage of Mosaic’s wider program aimed at enhancing the gas rate from the Churchie Field and other tight reservoirs in the Surat Basin by using fracture stimulation.

The initial fracture stimulation is expected to commence in March 2010 and be completed in approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

This fracture stimulation is considered to be an initial trial of the technology as it is possible that it may take several wells before the optimum design is achieved, Mosaic Oil has said.

Mosaic Oil is planning new wells in the Surat Basin to be specifically drilled and completed in anticipation of the wells being hydraulically fractured.

Mosaic’s other projects include the Churchie Plant to Silver Springs to Wallumbilla Pipeline lateral, the Waggamba Field to Taylor Field and the Waggamba to Silver Springs projects.
