Oil Search makes further progress at Alaska projects

Oil Search’s exploration wells in the Pikka East area, Alaska North slope has been side-tracked, to further appraise the Nanushuk reservoir.

The company has confirmed that the sidetrack at Mitquq 1/Mitquq 1 ST1 which penetrated the Nanushul, is in line with its expectations.

The company reported that the well will be flow tested to determine reservoir deliverability and commercial viability, with preliminary result from the flow test expect in April.

In addition, the Stirrup 1 exploration well was drilled to a total depth of 1512m during February.

Oil Search revealed that the well was cored and logged, with casing run and cemented.

The well was further encountered with an oil column and evaluation of the core and logs is underway.

Preparations to flow test the well have now commenced to determine well deliverability and commercial viability with results expected in April.
