Production restarts at Pluto

In June, Woodside revealed additional maintenance operations at the Pluto LNG Project were required after problems with the facility’s mixed refrigerant compressor.

The extended shutdown led to Woodside forecasting that its 2019 production would be lower than originally anticipated and that the company had purchased third party cargoes in order to meet its LNG commitments to customers.

Woodside has now announced all additional works at the project have been completed and LNG production has restarted.

Gas from the Pluto and Xena offshore fields is processed at the facility and Woodside holds a 90 per cent operating interest in the project.

Kansai Electric and Tokyo Gas each hold 5 per cent.
