Santos awards contracts to Downer

Downer has been awarded a number of contracts in the oil and gas sector with Santos and at the Darwin liquified natural gas facility in the Northern Territory.

The company has secured a three-year framework agreement with Santos for the provision of multi-discipline works across exisiting upstream operational sites.

Santos advised that the scope of the work will include structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation across various site locations.

Downer was also granted a one-year extension to an exisiting maintenance contract with the operator of the Darwin liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility.

The Darwin LNG project is an LNG value chain project that involves the development and production of gas mainly from the Bayu-Undan gas field 250km off the southern coast of East Timor, as well as the pipeline transport and liquefaction of that gas.

The facility is a joint venture between Santos (68.4 per cent), ENI (11 per cent), INPEX (11.4 per cent), JERA (6.13 per cent) and Tokyo Gas (3.07 per cent).
