Screw compressing on show

Howden Australia, together with its screw compressor design and manufacturing colleagues from the United Kingdom, delivered two days of technical seminars in Brisbane in August.

With more than 50 attendees, the aim of the technical seminars was to provide information about Howden’s global and local operations, and to demonstrate its screw compressor products, services and capabilities to support Australia’s gas industry, in particular the coal seam gas sector.

Commenting on the feedback received from the seminars, Howden Australia Managing Director Livio Salvestro said “The overwhelming response has been very positive, and we hope these presentations and discussions showcase Howden’s engineering know-how in understanding the technical and environmental challenges involved in methane gas extraction and compression.

“Our ability to meet these challenges is demonstrated through our capability to offer a range of commercially attractive product and service options and customised packaged gas compression solutions.

“?One of Howden’s main compressor products and service activities includes the design, manufacture and supply of a range of highly reliable and efficient twin screw compressors.”

The company also undertakes the engineering design and assembly of complete packaged screw compressor systems for process gas applications, and provides a full range of aftermarket services, from engineering support to repairs and spare parts, all delivered through a global network of offices, workshops and strategic partnership agreements.

During the past 40 years, Howden has supplied over 600 compressors throughout Australia.

Howden Australia operates out of Rydalmere, New South Wales. The office is the central point for Howden’s Asia Pacific operations incorporating sales, engineering, contract management and service support functions.
