Walyering-5 testing period scheduled to commence

Walyering-5 gas presence

Strike Energy has provided an update on its operational activities at the onshore Walyering Gas Field, located in the North Perth basin. The Western Australian-based company is the operator of this field under permit EP447, and holds 55 per cent equity interest.

Walyering-5

The formal flow testing period of Walyering-5 is due to commences shortly. The remaining six metres of pay in the D-Sand will be perforated. A retrievable plug will then perforate 10 metres of the C-Sand, flowing it in isolation. The same process will be conducted on 23 metres of B-Sand and 15 metres of A-Sand perforations. Once the testing has been completed for each individual zone, a comingled test will be also performed.

The flow test period has been extended to approximately 28 days in order to collect additional data and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the reservoir’s performance. Strike will disclose the results of the testing once they become available.

Walyering-6

This week, the Ensign 970p rig will be mobilised to the Walyering-6 site. Drilling operations are expected to take place in late April.

Reserves and resources

RISC Advisory will be conducting an independent assessment and review of the reserves and resources of Walyering Gas Field. Should RISC obtain positive testing data, it will support the field’s progression to a reserve/resource post.
